Current Activities

ColdFusion 9
Having recently installed CF9, I've been exploring the new features such as ORM and the CFScript enhancements. I had previously considered using an ORM framework such as Transfer with my ColdFusion applications, but once I heard that CF9 would be incorporating Hibernate I figured I'd wait until it was released. Regarding CFScript, I use it extensively and am very pleased with the additions to it in CF9 and intend to use them ubiquitously.

PHP
I've been working with PHP alot lately. As a language, I find it to be relatively quick to pick up and have already built two client websites using it.

XSLT
I've been using quite alot of XSL to transform XML into XHTML. XSL can be a little tricky but after some trial and error I've been able to get it to do some powerful transformations.

Flex
Currently I'm learning Flex and find it extremely useful for building Rich Internet Applications. The user experience is greatly improved via an enhanced user interface that provides return of data without having to leave the current page.

AJAX
Lately I've been working extensively with AJAX to acquire RSS feeds using ColdFusion proxies and Google APIs such as news and weather. I've also used AJAX with other Google APIs such as maps and spellchecker which provide significant enhancements to the user experience.
